Cohen Seglias Hires Two in Pittsburgh Office - New hires strengthen the firm’s oil and gas capability

Philadelphia, PAAugust 17, 2015Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman PC, a law firm that represents corporate clients, midsized privately held businesses and construction related companies, has announced the hire of two attorneys in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. Brian Lawton has joined as a Partner and James McGraw has joined as an Associate.

“The addition of both Brian and Jim in our Pittsburgh office allows us to expand our reach and relevancy in a time of exciting growth in both construction and oil and gas in that area,” said Roy Cohen, Founder and President of Cohen Seglias. “Brian in particular brings impressive experience in his work with landowners, which can at times be complicated and complex. We’re thrilled to have him join us.”

Mr. Lawton, known for his representation of both landowners and operators in all facets of oil and gas development, will merge his experience with that of the other attorneys in the office who focus on construction litigation, in order to meet the diverse needs of landowners and operators in the greater Pittsburgh region.

Mr. McGraw focuses his practice on construction, labor & employment and commercial litigation and counsels clients on a variety of construction-related issues with an emphasis on projects involving public entities. He is also an experienced advocate at trial, civil arbitrations and mediations and has successfully argued cases before both state and federal courts, as well as the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.

With these hires, Cohen Seglias numbers 62 attorneys in nine locations, including four attorneys in the Pittsburgh office. In addition to Messrs. Lawton and McGraw, attorneys in the Pittsburgh office include partner Lisa Wampler and Associate Lori Wisniewski Azzara. In March of 2014 the Pittsburgh office of Cohen Seglias moved into larger, centrally located space at 525 William Penn Place. The 41-story LEED Gold certified office tower consists of 10 offices in 6,340 feet of space.

In June Cohen Seglias announced a merger with DC firm Thaler Liebeler LLP and the formation of a new Internal Investigations Practice Group. The Group represents institutions and individuals focusing on workplace investigations, scientific and research misconduct, and Title IX investigations.
