Philadelphia (March 10, 2009) – Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman “CSPG&F” announced today that it has completed a merger with Payne Hackenbracht & Sullivan “PHS Legal”, creating a 55-attorney firm with regional and national reach.
The merger, which will be effective on April 1, 2009, combines CSPG&F’s multi-faceted construction, labor, employment, commercial practices with PHS Legal’s national federal construction contracting practice, among other synergies.
The merged firm retains the name of Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman and remains headquartered in Philadelphia. The firm employs about 88 people.
“We are positioning the Firm to expand by merging with the Payne firm founded by Michael Payne. We expect to increase our presence nationally within the federal construction practice area as well as improve our expertise in all aspects of construction law,” said Edward Seglias who has been CSPG&F’s Marketing Partner and remains marketing partner of the merged firm. “We also believe that the expected infrastructure programs within the stimulus package will generate additional legal work for those firms who actively represent clients in federal government construction projects. This merger will combine the significant resources of CSPG&F along with the expertise of Payne Hackenbracht & Sullivan to create a formidable construction law practice group servicing the wide ranging needs of our client base.”
