BRIAN A. LAWTON is a Partner in the Firm’s Pittsburgh office. He delivers skilled and practical legal guidance to businesses of all sizes. The industries Brian serves run the gamut of oil and gas, manufacturing, distributing, construction, professional services, and banking. He has extensive experience in drafting and negotiation of contracts for the provision of goods and services, real estate matters, the structuring of credit facilities, entity selection, technology exchange, and distributor/sales agency relationships.

A central aspect of Brian’s practice is assisting oil and gas companies, landowners and royalty owners in transactions and litigation matters relating to the production and transportation of oil and gas. He routinely advises clients concerning oil and gas leases, surface use agreements, pipeline right-of-ways and mineral title matters. Brian brings his strong experience to bear in successfully resolving claims and lawsuits relating to the interpretation and enforcement of contractual agreements governing the production and transportation of oil and gas, royalty payment disputes, and resolution of questions surrounding title to minerals.

Brian also has extensive experience representing creditors in all facets of credit collection, including credit restructuring, distressed acquisitions/sales, state court collection and bankruptcy proceedings. In this aspect of his practice, he counsels trade creditors, financial institutions, and risk capital investors.
