CATHERINE NGUYEN is an Associate in the Construction and Labor & Employment Groups of Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman PC.

Catherine represents a national client base of owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. She has secured wins for clients throughout the country in state, federal and appellate courts. Outside the courtroom, Catherine successfully represents clients in arbitration and mediation of construction and employment disputes. She regularly provides guidance relating to public and private construction projects alike, including contract drafting, contract review, payment disputes, mechanics’ liens, injunctions, bid protests, and insurance and bonding issues. She has also successfully handled claims such as state and federal employment discrimination, executive compensation, non-solicitation and non-competition covenants, and tortious interference claims.

Prior to joining Cohen Seglias, Catherine attended The Pennsylvania State University and Temple University Beasley School of Law. She is fluent in Vietnamese, and is a founding member and the Advisory Board Chair of VietLEAD, a grassroots organization cultivating young leaders in the Delaware Valley through creative youth programming. Catherine is an active member and the Secretary of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania (APABA-PA). She is also a regular contributor to the Firm’s newsletter, Construction in Brief, as well as the Firm’s construction blog, Construction Law Signal. Catherine has presented seminars for national organizations and clients of the firm about Minority- (“MBE”), Women- (“WBE”), and Disabled- (“DSBE”) Owned Business Enterprise, in addition to construction and labor and employment issues.

  • Every year since 2013, Catherine has been selected to the Pennsylvania Rising Stars list in the field of Construction Litigation by Super Lawyers Magazine. Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to receive this honor.
  • Catherine is the winner of the first Philadelphia Bar Association Large Firm Management Committee’s Public Service Award. The award is given to two associates who have made a difference in Philadelphia through extraordinary pro bono representation or public service to individuals or entities that address the challenges faced by communities of need in the City of Philadelphia. 
  • In 2015, Catherine was the recipient of the Philadelphia Bar Association Large Firm Management Committee’s Public Service Award. This award honors a lawyer who has made a difference in Philadelphia through extraordinary public service to individuals or entities that address the challenges faced by communities of need in the City of Philadelphia.
