Law Shmaw: A Real World Look at Non-Compete Litigation
What are your chances of winning a non-compete case? Are non-compete agreements really enforceable? Having gone to court in dozens of non-compete cases, our presenters know that the answer to these questions can’t be found in a dusty old book. Rather than focusing on technical legal rules in this fast-paced session, our presenters will compare and contrast cases that they have litigated in court. Find out what it takes to triumphantly leave the courthouse with an injunction in hand!

Organized Labor In 2016: Seven Things Every Business Needs To Understand
Times are changing, and so have the rules and the decisions under the National Labor Relations Act. With increasing frequency and efficiency, union business agents are using an expanded arsenal of state-of-the-art tactics, including social media. Our presenters have successfully handled hundreds of unfair labor practice and election cases, including the first election case in Philadelphia under the new “ambush election” rules. In this nuts-and-bolts session, we will unveil our list of seven things which every business needs to know when dealing with organized labor in 2016.

Popcorn and Employment Law: HR Lessons from the Movies and Television
A good employment law case is a lot like good theater. Indeed, we regularly deal with situations filled with drama, an outrageous cast of characters, love triangles, acts of violence, and hard-to-believe plot twists. In this presentation, we will view short clips from some of our favorite movies and television shows and analyze them from an employment lawyer’s perspective. Our presentation will cover a wide variety of substantive areas, including hostile work environment claims, workplace violence, unfair competition and trade secrets, and disparate treatment on the basis of gender, race, and national origin.

A Year In Review: Top Labor and Employment Cases and Developments - Panel Discussion and Q&A
It has been an extraordinarily busy year for Congress, state and federal courts, and agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Department of Labor. In this interactive session, our panel of presenters will move from topic to topic and review the latest labor and employment law developments and how they affect your business. The panel will cover recent decisions from the Supreme Court on accommodating pregnant employees and providing same-sex employee benefits, the EEOC’s guidance on background checks, the NLRB’s new test for joint-employer status, and the DOL’s recently announced changes to the overtime regulations. Hold on to your seat!
