On February 24, Cohen Seglias attorneys Dan Fierstein and Matt Gioffre hosted their seminar, “Understanding the New Amendments to the PA Mechanics’ Lien Law ” for the Mechanical & Service Contractors Association (M&SCA) in Blue Bell, PA.
A mechanic’s lien is an essential tool that helps contractors secure payment on construction projects. This year, the Pennsylvania lien law changed significantly. For some projects, subcontractors and suppliers must now take action at the start of projects to preserve their lien rights at the end of the project.
Matt and Dan presented a seminar explaining these important changes to the law, including a survey of the new Pennsylvania State Construction Notices Directory. They also explained the lien laws in New Jersey, New York, and Delaware so that contractors will know how to preserve their lien rights when working on projects in those states.
