On June 7th, Roy Cohen and George Pallas hosted the workshop, “The One Who Plays The Game Better, Wins“, with the Boston Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) in Waltham, MA .
Just Because You Are Right Doesn’t Mean You Will Get Paid for Impacts.
The One Who Plays The Game Better, Wins.
The focus of this workshop was to sensitize electrical contractors, who are most likely to get impacted on a project, that (1) electrical construction is a contract sport when dealing with Construction Managers and General Contractors; (2) the electrical contractor who proactively negotiates the contract provided by the Construction Manager/General Contractor is better protected than one who doesn’t; (3) the electrical contractor who complies with the terms of the contract by providing written notice of impacts and modifying monthly partial releases of liens is better protected than one who doesn’t; and (4) if an electrical contractor plays the game better by negotiating and documenting, their risk of being in litigation is greatly reduced.
