On April 15, 2016, Maria Panichelli presented her seminar, “Legal Issues Affecting VOSB/SDVOSBs“, for the Saint Joseph’s University Veterans Entrepreneurial Jumpstart Program in Philadelphia, PA.
As any Federal contractor will tell you, the rules, regulations and laws relating to doing business with the Federal government can be extremely confusing, and the consequences of breaking those laws can be very harsh. Nowhere is that more the case than in the world of veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran owned small business programs. In this session, experienced Federal Contracting attorney Maria L. Panichelli walked guests through some of the most important legal issues affecting veteran-owned businesses. Attendees learned about the regulations governing eligibility for the SBA and VA VOSB/SDVOSB programs, and common mistakes made by contractors that can destroy eligibility, including affiliation and improper teaming arrangements. Maria also discussed size and status protests, and size determinations.
