Maria Panichelli and Bob Ruggieri could not attend this year’s Business Growth Symposium and are now offering their presentations in webinar format to the Symposium’s attendees. On June 8th, Maria and Bob presented “Partnering for Success: Teaming and Joint Venturing Strategies for Federal Contracts“.
There is no hotter topic in Federal Government Contracting than teaming and joint venturing. Whether you are a small business looking to expand your capabilities or a large business looking for access to set-aside contracts, teaming and joint venturing can greatly expand your federal contracting opportunities. While most contractors know the terms, many do not fully understand the requirements of enforceable agreements. When done incorrectly, teaming and joint venturing can have serious consequences.
During this webinar, attendees learned how to use teaming and joint venturing to their advantage. Presenters Maria Panichelli and Bob Ruggieri of Cohen Seglias discussed how to form an eligible JV, the proper procedures for entering into an enforceable teaming agreement, and essential clauses to include in these types of agreements, as well as common pitfalls to avoid. The practical implications of negotiating terms of a teaming or JV agreement from both the prime and subcontractor perspectives will be considered. Other partnering strategies, including mentor-protégé relationships, were discussed and other recent developments in this area of law were be covered.
