“George is an outstanding litigator. He seeks to resolve an issue through mitigation where possible, however, if litigation is needed, he’s the best.”
– Chambers USA 2021 client feedback
George acts as counsel to a wide range of construction clients including general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers on both public and private projects. With 30 years of industry experience, he is a key player in construction litigation, handling complex multi-million dollar disputes on behalf of his clients.
In contentious settings, George successfully builds rapport and consensus across the negotiating table and approaches litigation as a team effort with the best interest of the client in mind.
Recent cases he has handled include commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential construction, heavy highway, water supply and treatment, solid hazardous waste, school, and various other multi-prime projects.
George is an experienced litigator, regularly handling cases nationally. He has recently tried cases at the state and federal appellate levels in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. George has also argued before the Pennsylvania and Delaware Supreme Courts. He is appointed a national neutral arbitrator by the American Arbitration Association.
As co-CEO of Cohen Seglias, George spearheads the firm’s strategic growth with Ed Seglias.
George frequently shares his experience and presents seminars for clients and trade associations on all aspects of construction litigation.
