OSHA’s most recent regulatory initiative is giving employers “déjà vu all over again.” In December 2021, OSHA announced its intention to issue a notice of proposed rulemaking that would restore portions of its original electronic reporting requirements for injury and illness data. If implemented, the new rule would not only burden some employers with additional compliance obligations but also likely face the same challenges that led to the original rule’s partial withdrawal. In this NUCA Pennsylvania webinar, Cohen Seglias attorneys Anthony L. Byler and Michael Metz-Topodas will address the following topics to help contractors handle this shifting regulatory landscape and ensure compliance.
- OSHA’s current electronic reporting and record-keeping requirements
- Potential consequences contractors face for failing to comply with these requirements
- OSHA’s proposed changes to the electronic reporting requirement
- Expected grounds for opposition to the new requirements
- Other injury and illness reporting requirements under OSHA’s regulations
- Specific COVID-19 illness reporting requirements
