Cohen Seglias Builds Out NYC Construction Practice
By: Daniel Connolly
In Law360 Pulse, Managing partner Steven Williams discussed Paul Lucas joining our New York office and our new of-counsel relationship with Georgoulis PLLC. About entering into the relationship, Steve said “They traditionally have pretty much done the same kind of thing that we do. We represent virtually everybody in the chain of a construction project, from the owner all the way down to the subcontractors to the material providers, and in all kinds of projects from infrastructure like highways, power plants, water treatment plants, high rise buildings, multifamily buildings.” He added, “It’s good for us to be able to expand the office by bringing somebody in who already knows the industry, already has clients that he’s working on and can hit the ground running. So I think it’s a great opportunity.”
Construction-focused law firm Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman PC is adding to its primary expertise in its New York office with the hire of a veteran attorney of two decades, as it additionally forms an ongoing relationship with another construction-focused firm.
Cohen Seglias announced that it’s hiring construction attorney Paul Lucas, who was previously with the New York-based law firm Georgoulis PLLC and has more than 20 years experience. And Cohen Seglias is entering into an of counsel relationship with that same small firm, which is led by construction industry lawyer Chris Georgoulis, who has more than 40 years of experience.
Some partners with Cohen Seglias have known Georgoulis for decades and have cooperated with him in the past, Steve Williams, managing partner with Cohen Seglias, told Law360 Pulse.
