Cliff focuses his practice on construction law, representing general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals and other construction industry participants in complex disputes involving public infrastructure and large-scale construction projects. His practice includes prosecuting and defending claims arising from project delays, design and engineering issues, changes in scope, payment disputes and other challenges encountered throughout the construction process, with a particular emphasis on public contracts and transportation infrastructure projects in New York and New Jersey.
Cliff brings a detail-oriented and practical approach to resolving construction disputes. An effective writer, communicator and advocate, he works to distill complex technical, contractual and legal issues into clear, persuasive arguments that advance his clients’ interests. He is particularly interested in the intersection of infrastructure development, emerging technologies, and sustainability, including the legal and commercial challenges associated with delivering resilient and sustainable infrastructure projects.
As a member of Cohen Seglias’ AI Working Group, Cliff contributes to the firm’s efforts to evaluate and integrate artificial intelligence into legal practice. He is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s International Law and Organizations Committee and Corporate Sustainability, Cleantech and Climate Change Committee.
While in law school, Cliff served as a judicial intern to the Hon. Robert B. Kugler of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Hon. Cheryl Ann Krause of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He also served as Lead Research Editor of the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal and co-captain of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Honor Society.
