Craig J. Staudenmaier Receives Lifetime Achievement Award From the Keystone State Railroad Association
We are pleased to announce that Craig Staudenmaier has received a well-earned honor recognizing a lifetime of dedication to the railroad industry: the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Keystone State Railroad Association.
Craig’s deep respect for the railroad community is rooted in family—his father was a machinist for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Inspired by that connection, Craig went on to represent the railroad industry for nearly 40 years, beginning his career in 1985. Throughout that time, he served as a trusted legal advisor to major rail clients, including Conrail, Norfolk Southern, CSX Transportation, Amtrak, and numerous regional and short-line railroads. His work included FELA and crossing accident cases, property damage disputes, contractual issues, and regulatory matters.
Among his many accomplishments, Craig successfully argued several landmark cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit—decisions that continue to influence railroad law across the state. His defense verdicts in crossing accident cases and appellate wins established key legal precedents that benefit the entire industry.
Craig will be presented with the Keystone Rail Freight Lifetime Achievement Award on April 16, 2025, at the Keystone State Railroad Association’s Rail Freight Conference. He will be celebrated at the event by his colleagues from Cohen Seglias, including Benjamin Dunlap—who is also speaking at the conference—as well as Joshua Bonn and Matthew Erlanger.
