- Assisted in defending the director of nursing at a long-term care facility in a criminal investigation following a resident death, including review of internal records and preparation for testimony.
- Helped respond to a joint federal–state investigation into alleged Medicaid fraud involving several independent pharmacies, resulting in a declination of charges.
Anam serves the firm’s clients in a wide variety of federal contracting matters, including bid protests, preparing Requests for Equitable Adjustment (REAs), responding to government investigations, and all stages of litigating claims under the Contract Disputes Act (CDA). She handles small business procurement issues and counsels clients in applying for small business status, competing for small business set-aside contracts, size and status protests, and Certificate of Competency issues.
In addition to her government contracting work, Anam assists individuals and institutions in navigating investigations brought by state attorneys general, the U.S. Department of Justice, and other federal and state agencies. She has contributed to internal investigations involving healthcare enforcement matters and regularly works with the firm’s Research Misconduct Group. In that role, she represents scientists and research institutions in matters involving allegations of plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification of data related to federally funded research.
Anam is fluent in Urdu, which enhances her ability to communicate effectively with a broader range of clients.
Prior to joining Cohen Seglias, Anam was a summer associate in the firm’s Washington, DC office, where she worked closely with the White Collar Defense & Internal Investigations and Research Misconduct Groups.
