Mehreen helps individuals and companies navigate complex investigations and prosecutions for federal and local criminal violations brought by state attorneys general, the U.S. Department of Justice, and other federal and state agencies. She also conducts internal investigations on behalf of institutions regarding Title IX and research misconduct, and is a member of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Government Investigations, Internal Investigations, and Scientific Misconduct Groups.
Mehreen represents scientists and institutions in matters involving allegations of plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification of data in the context of scientific research supported by federal funds.
Prior to joining Cohen Seglias, Mehreen worked at a litigation boutique where her practice focused on complex civil and commercial disputes in federal and state courts. She has represented corporations and individual clients in all stages of litigation—inception, discovery, trial, and appeal.
While in law school, Mehreen served as a student attorney in her school’s Gender Violence Clinic, where she represented victims of sexual violence in court proceedings. She was also a notes and comments editor for the Journal of Business & Technology Law.
She is fluent in Urdu and conversant in Hindi.
