- Obtained summary judgment in federal court in favor of a design-builder, earning dismissal of three out of five of a subcontractor’s claims and reducing the remaining claims by $2.4 million.
- Obtained dismissal of an owner’s counterclaim against an electrical subcontractor by establishing that the owner was not a third-party beneficiary of the subcontract with the general contractor.
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of an electrical subcontractor against a general contractor on a retail store project, establishing entitlement to 100% of the client’s claim plus counsel fees and interest.
- Obtained the dismissal of a client from a lawsuit where the United States failed to state a claim against him under the False Claims Act.
- Obtained a $2.2 million arbitration award in favor of a developer against a contractor that performed defective work.
- Obtained an order from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court significantly reducing a contractor client’s state sales and use tax obligations.

Sydney represents contractors, subcontractors and owners in construction disputes of all kinds on public and private projects spanning from Pennsylvania to Kentucky. She regularly handles mechanics’ lien claims, bond claims, and delay and inefficiency claims, including cases involving hotels, multi-family residential buildings, schools and universities, power and manufacturing plants, and shopping centers, among others. Sydney counsels clients across all sectors of the construction industry on potential disputes and advocates on their behalf in all stages of litigation and in alternative dispute resolution settings. Sydney has also handled appellate work in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Sydney is a member of the Women’s Initiative and is a mentor for the firm’s summer associate program. She previously served as co-editor-in-chief of the firm’s newsletter, Construction in Brief.
During law school, Sydney was a lead research editor of the Temple Law Review and a judicial intern for the Hon. Petrese B. Tucker of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She also completed an internship with Community Legal Services of Philadelphia, focusing on consumer protection efforts related to property tax foreclosure.
