Matt advises clients on complex construction law matters and litigates claims on behalf of general contractors, subcontractors, design-builders, material suppliers and project owners. Matt has broad experience litigating matters involving construction and design defects, product defects, delays, lost productivity, unforeseen conditions and out-of-scope work claims on public, private and federal projects.
Throughout his career, Matt has consulted with clients on the most problematic construction projects and advised them on strategies to comply with their contracts and the law, minimize their risks and best position themselves to turn complex projects into successful ones. These consultations are based on Matt’s years of experience litigating and trying cases to verdict or award against developers, general contractors and public owners, as well as his preparation and negotiation of contracts totaling many hundreds of millions of dollars.
Through experience on both the litigation and contracting sides of construction law, Matt understands the varied perspectives and motivations of all those involved in construction projects. He also knows how actions taken during a project can set a client up for success at trial. Matt uses his knowledge and experience to achieve his client’s goals, whether it is to recover payments rightfully owed; assert lien and bond claims; negotiate the best possible result; or document, support and litigate claims to maximize recovery.
Matt has represented clients in many forums, including mediations, private arbitrations and many state and federal courts.
