On August 23 Associate Jennifer Budd presented the webinar “Common Missteps Construction Contractors Make when Suing the State of NJ and How to Avoid Them.”
When a construction contractor decides to file a claim against the State of New Jersey, certain procedures must be followed. In this webinar, Cohen Seglias Associate Jennifer Budd discussed common missteps contractors make in protecting claim rights and preparing for litigation against the State. She defined the State of New Jersey and highlighted the differences in claim prosecution with various state agencies, including the Department of Transportation, the Schools Development Authority, and the Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction. Jen also reviewed the New Jersey Contractual Liability Act, which can bar claims from contractors if not followed.
