Cohen Seglias Appoints New Harrisburg, Pa., Office Leader
By: James Boyle
Joshua Bonn has been tapped to be managing partner of Cohen Seglias’ Harrisburg office, the firm announced Friday. Bonn told Law360 Pulse in an interview that he did not plan on taking the leadership role when he joined his colleagues from the now-closed Nauman Smith Shissler & Hall LLP in their move to Cohen Seglias in February 2024.
“It was not discussed at the time,” Bonn said. “I think this promotion reflects that the firm is pleased with my performance since the transition.”
With becoming managing partner of the Harrisburg office, Bonn eases some of the responsibilities from previous office managing partner Steven Williams, who held the role for 18 years. Williams saw his responsibilities grow in 2023 when he was named firmwide managing partner while continuing his commercial litigation practice.
“He’s a very impressive guy, and he’s got a lot of balls in the air,” Bonn said. “I am definitely excited and happy to help out. They recognized my desire to be more involved at the Harrisburg office.”
Like Williams, Bonn will continue to operate his practice while managing the Harrisburg office. Bonn advises clients on matters such as railroad and transportation law, media and right-to-know open records appeals, and appeals to state and federal appellate courts.
Bonn is among Pennsylvania’s most experienced transparency attorneys, representing individuals and media entities in public records litigation under Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law, and routinely briefing and arguing open records appeals in the state’s Office of Open Records and in trial and appellate courts.
