Cohen Seglias is committed to the retention and advancement of its professional women and recognizes the value of a diverse workforce. Through active mentorship and professional development, the Women’s Initiative seeks to create opportunities and foster career growth for the women of the firm.
Cohen Seglias’ Women’s Initiative is committed to advancing and empowering women within the firm. It fosters female leadership at all levels, promotes flexibility through policy implementation, and offers thoughtful programming for growth. The Initiative focuses on recruiting, promoting and supporting women attorneys while empowering women professionals both within and outside the firm. The Women’s Initiative Committee Chair holds a position on the firm’s Executive Committee and actively identifies opportunities to enhance experiences and opportunities for women at the firm.
The Women’s Initiative primary focus has been facilitating communication among women partners and associates to enhance advancement opportunities and creating a comprehensive parental leave handbook. Additionally, the Initiative organizes quarterly in-house programs led by prominent figures from the legal and business communities, along with in-house senior management. These programs cover various important topics including personal branding, mental health, leadership and self-promotion.
Leadership and Opportunity
Women at Cohen Seglias sit on the firm’s executive committee, serve as the chief operating officer and directors of marketing and HR, and lead firm-wide committees. The firm also encourages its women to participate in national organizations and trade associations such as the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, American Road and Transportation Builders Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, the Association of Title IX Administrators, the General Building Contractors Association, Commercial Real Estate Development Association, the Federal Bar Association, the National Association of Women in Construction, the National Electrical Contractors Association, Professional Women in Construction, and the Society of Human Resource Management.
