For more than 35 years, Marc has limited his practice to representing only employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. He works closely with his clients, both union and non-union, to implement the strategies and policies necessary to achieve business goals and to create strong companies and workforces. Marc’s clients span a broad range of industries throughout the United States, including manufacturing, hotel and hospitality, automotive, telecommunications, healthcare, food processing and distribution, and financial services. He is particularly focused on representing construction companies in matters involving unions and union organizing, picketing, and prevailing wage situations.
Marc has extensive experience with traditional labor law matters. He guides employers through the union election process and has successfully handled hundreds of matters before the National Labor Relations Board, including representation and decertification election petitions and Unfair Labor Practice charge proceedings. Marc regularly negotiates collective bargaining agreements and handles union grievances, labor arbitrations, and contract administration matters. He also helps clients navigate union organizing activity and work stoppages.
Marc also defends employers in employment litigation matters in state and federal court and before administrative agencies. This includes employment discrimination suits, non-competition agreements, prevailing wage, and general wage and hour compliance.
Clients turn to Marc for day-to-day counseling on human resources matters such as hiring and firing, drug testing, workplace investigations, employee handbooks and employment policies and family and medical leave. He frequently lectures about these and other labor and employment law topics to other attorneys, employers, and industry associations.
Away from the office, Marc served as secretary of Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, where, for more than twenty-five years, he held officer, trustee, and senior trustee positions. Other interests include being an avid cyclist, volunteering at major automotive concours events and national cycling races and championships, being a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, and spending time with his family.
