Cohen Seglias Promotes Gary J. Repke Jr. and Timothy R. Ryan to Partner
Cohen Seglias is pleased to announce the promotion of Gary Repke, Jr. and Timothy Ryan to the firm’s partnership, effective January 1, 2024. Across the firm, a total of nine attorneys were promoted to partner.

Gary is based in Cohen Seglias’ New York office and is focused on representing contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, design professionals, construction managers, and owners on private and public construction projects. He regularly litigates payment disputes, mechanic’s lien foreclosures, and test fund diversion cases for his clients. Gary has experience in state and federal courts and works to navigate the discovery process toward trial effectively and efficiently. Prior to joining the firm, Gary served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Mae A. D’Agostino in the United States District Court in the Northern District of New York. He received his J.D. from Albany Law School and his B.S. from Rutgers University. While attending law school, he interned for the City of Cohoes, New York where he drafted comprehensive green infrastructure regulations that were incorporated into the City’s Zoning Code. Gary has been recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch since 2023 and in New York Rising Stars from 2019-2023.
Based in Cohen Seglias’ Newark office, Tim counsels general contractors, subcontractors, construction managers, and design professionals on all aspects of construction law. He specializes in litigation matters for construction clients throughout New Jersey and New York, and also frequently advises clients regarding ongoing distressed projects. Prior to joining Cohen Seglias, Tim worked with a prominent national law firm and focused on defending design professionals in professional liability matters. He received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.S. from Pennsylvania State University. He was recognized in the 2024 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in Construction Law and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Construction Law Section. Tim is also a member of the New Jersey Professional Engineers in Construction, the General Contractors Association of New York’s Law and Legislation Committee, the NJ Alliance for Action and the Utility & Transportation Contractors Association Golf Committee.
