Cohen Seglias Announces New Leadership Roles for George E. Pallas, Edward Seglias, Steven M. Williams and Evan A. Blaker
We are pleased to announce new leadership roles at the firm. Steve Williams has been named managing partner, and Evan Blaker has been named the firm’s administrative partner; each will serve three-year terms beginning on January 1, 2023. In addition, Ed Seglias and George Pallas have been named co-CEOs of the firm, which went into effect on July 1, 2022.
Since its founding in 1988, Cohen Seglias has grown from a three-attorney firm into a multistate law firm with more than 80 attorneys across eight offices, serving individuals, businesses and institutions nationwide. As co-CEOs, George and Ed lead the firm’s strategic direction and explore growth opportunities through bringing on lateral hires, adding practice areas and expanding to new geographic markets.
George, who has served as managing partner and CEO of Cohen Seglias since 2016, noted, “As the members of our leadership maintain highly active practices, we have arrived at an innovative solution of dividing the CEO role.”
Ed added, “As co-CEOs, we can work with Steve and Evan to formalize growth opportunities and lead the firm forward.”
Upon assuming the role of managing partner of Cohen Seglias in 2023, Steve will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm, working to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Steve will maintain his full-time practice focused on commercial litigation, landlord and tenant law, real estate, employment, and condominium and homeowner law. He previously served as the firm’s administrative partner.
“Cohen Seglias has evolved to meet our clients’ legal and business needs, growing from a construction boutique into a full-service firm with an extensive list of capabilities and a deep bench of practitioners,” noted Steve. “I am pleased to collaborate with George, Ed and Evan to continue developing the services that clients across industries value. We will continue to prioritize offering responsive and efficient legal guidance as we grow.”
As administrative partner, Evan will partner with Steve to develop and execute firm policies while assisting on issues involving legal operations. He will help appoint committee chairs and liaison with the firm’s branch offices to provide support.
