Cohen Seglias Adds Business Transactions Attorneys Venroy July and Brooke J. Weese
We are pleased to announce that Venroy July and Brooke J. Weese have joined the firm’s Business Transactions and Real Estate Groups. Venroy is a Partner in the Washington, D.C. office and Brooke is Senior Counsel in the Philadelphia office.

Venroy concentrates his practice on representing clients in commercial transactions including the acquisition and sale of businesses. He regularly serves as outside general counsel to businesses across a variety of industries and has experience assisting companies in regulated industries with structuring transactions, obtaining financing and raising capital, and general corporate operations. Venroy has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2021 in the area of Corporate Law.
Prior to joining Cohen Seglias, Venroy was a partner at an AmLaw 200 firm in Washington, D.C. He earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead-Cain Scholar. He is currently serving on the Baltimore City Trial Court Judicial Nominating Committee after a 2024 appointment by Governor Wes Moore. Venroy also serves on the board of directors for Sinai Hospital, Grace Medical Center and KIPP Baltimore.
Brooke focuses on business transactions and real estate matters, regularly representing buyers, sellers, lenders, borrowers and other parties involved in mergers and acquisitions and commercial real estate transactions. She has extensive experience representing landlords and tenants in lease negotiations for office, warehouse, retail and restaurant space across the country. Brooke also assists with corporate and real estate-based financing transactions.
Licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Brooke previously worked at a boutique firm in Philadelphia and at an AmLaw100 firm in New Jersey after working as in-house counsel for a construction company. She received her J.D. from the Rutgers School of Law, Camden and her M.S. from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism as well as her B.A. from the University of Michigan.
