Late Bids or Offers
It is extremely important for the bidder to deliver the bid or offer at the appointed place, on time. Late bids or offers must be rejected and returned unopened by the contracting officer. While exceptions have been granted in cases where the bidder is able to demonstrate government mishandling, most bids which are late are ultimately rejected in view of the difficulty in proving government mishandling. (See FAR 52.214-7).
