Importance of Quantum
Contractors frequently make the mistake of favoring the “entitlement” aspects of a request for additional compensation at the expense of “quantum” (the proof of costs). It is important to be sure that you can prove that you spent the money you are requesting, or you may find that you are entitled to far less than you expected. Also, if you cannot prove the costs you are requesting, you run the risk of committing fraud. This is not a risk worth taking.
