Release – Important Note
A contractor should not sign a modification, or any other document, containing language similar to the referenced language unless the contractor is prepared to waive its right to any other costs or claims. The government may not withhold a change order merely because a contractor refuses to execute a release. Also, a contractor can preserve its rights by attaching a reservation of rights to the disputed change order.
